Judges comment

Neales exposed a farm debt crisis in drought-stricken Queensland. She revealed the human anguish caused by brutal business decisions by the ANZ Bank to foreclose and force families off their farms. Her stories forced a change in bank and government behaviour. This was the best work in a large field of very high quality entries.
