John Silvester of the The Age has won the 2020 Keith Dunstan Quill for Commentary.
Judges' citation
These selections from the veteran writer on crime demonstrate his well-honed ability to take serious issues and treat them with respect and humour simultaneously. They highlight not only his depth of knowledge in his area of expertise, with superbly researched and reasoned arguments, but a light touch that keeps the reader interested to the final pithy point. He backs up his own assertion that "if you can't entertain, you can't inform".
