2021 Quills: Innovation in Journalism

Matilda Boseley of Guardian Australia has won the 2021 Innovation in Journalism Quill.

Judges' citation

In a year when the tribulations of the pandemic seem to have somewhat curtailed the advance of journalistic innovation - resulting in fewer entries for the category than usual - there were still some noteworthy contributions. The judges felt the winning entry was a clear stand-out, combining clear, accurate journalism with a refreshing and clever approach to reaching new audiences on a platform not known for its journalistic reach. A remarkable individual effort.
