As the first devout Muslim to play in the Australian Football League, Bachar Houli is well placed to reflect on the power of sport to connect diverse communities. Bachar believes sport has an enormous role to play, connecting people from all backgrounds to promote social cohesion. The Bachar Houli Foundation (BHF) encourages Islamic youth to proudly connect with their identity and use that as the foundation for educating the broader community and promoting mutual understanding.

At this special MPC media lunch, moderated by award-winning footy commentator Caroline Wilson, Bachar will share his unique journey as a footballer and community leader, reflecting on the lessons learned and the opportunities it presents for everyone.
