Press Club gains new sponsor

One of the newest players in Melbourne’s media scene, Mediaxpress, has signed up as a sponsor of the Melbourne Press Club.

Mediaxpress is a multimedia content producer and publishing house formed by a group of former senior Fairfax staff.

The company, launched last year, already does extensive work for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald. It also produces 3010, the Melbourne University Magazine.

Managing Director Rod Wiedermann, a former club treasurer, said Mediaxpress and the Melbourne Press Club shared common ambitions. “Like the club, we are dedicated to promoting excellence in writing, editing, design and production. We are delighted to support the club in promoting all that is best in the media,” he said.

Melbourne Press Club CEO Mark Baker said the Club was pleased to welcome Mediaxpress as its latest sponsor. “The Mediaxpress parters are all long-time friends and supporters of the Club and their combined expertise will make an important contribution to our work,” he said.

The other partners at Mediaxpress are Production Editor David Clemson, Art Director Bill Farr, Photographic Editor Louise Graham and Managing Editor Ken Merrigan.

Drawing on a large pool of talented writers, photographers, editors, illustrators and designers, Mediaxpress brings decades of newsroom experience to its projects. It’s website is Mediaxpress.net.au
