What are your rights if you are raided?

Over two days in June last year, Australian Federal Police officers executed search warrants at the home of News Corp journalist Annika Smethurst and the ABC’s Ultimo headquarters. They sought materials relating to investigative reporting about our national security regime and unlawful killings by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan. The raids shocked Australia’s journalism fraternity and united calls for increased protections covering journalists and whistleblowers.

Minter Ellison media lawyer Peter Bartlett and ABC News executive editor John Lyons joined MPC vice president Ashlynne McGhee for a webinar exploring the issue and discussing recent developments in legal cases by the ABC and News Corp.
