Episode 1: Miriam Silva – Have You Heard The News?

Welcome to the Melbourne Press Club's new podcast, Have You Heard The News?

In each episode, we ask a prominent Melburnian to nominate the biggest news story they remember. Our guests over the series include Lord Mayor Sally Capp, Climate 200 Convenor Simon Holmes a Court and University of Melbourne's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous) Barry Judd.

We start the series with Miriam Silva AM, an experienced businesswoman, who has contributed to organisations across agriculture, multiculturalism and the arts. Her choice of news story is a deeply personal one, that is a timely reminder for us all as we brace for what is forecast to be a hot summer.
